Age of vines: 12-46 years
Terroir: The grapes for this wine originate from the Apfelgrund site, which is a part of the Heideboden site, with a profound as well humouse chalky brown earth soil on a coarse gravel layer in the subsoil.
Cultivation: yield reduction to 8 grapes/ vine, selectively harvested by hand on September 19th.
Maturation: selection of grapes, gentle processing, controlled maceration, deacidification, aged 12 months in large wooden casks, bottled on march 23, 2017
Wine: bright ruby red with an pale edge; intense fruit of mature heart cherry and sour cherry with fine nuances of clove; very juicy-delicate-elegant on the palate with lasting sour cherry; compact texture and an elegant finish. (16.03.2017)
