Age of vines: Between 13 and 29 years
Terroir: The grapes for this wine originate in the higher terraces of the Parndorfer Platte. Characteristic for these sites are cooler calciferous gravel soils with sandy substrate, making for a fine fruit accent along with a high degree of ripeness and complexity.
Cultivation: yield reduction to 1 grape/shoot, selectively harvested by hand on 16 and 18 September
Maturation: gentle processing, controlled fermentation, deacidification in barrique, batonnage, aged 16 months in barrique (70% new), bottled on 16 March 2011, aged in the bottle 6 months
Wine: light shiny straw yellow; there are delicate nuances of vanilla with a mellow intense aroma of mango and peach as well a touch of cocos; the fruitiness is extending through the palate, soft and balanced, corpulent, lively and a long finish with a very discrete roasted aroma (11.10.2011)
